YSI carbon dioxide (CO2)
sensors and monitors
The YSI carbon dioxide
(CO2) sensors and monitors add a new dimension to your bioprocess
development. YSI's exclusive opto-chemical technology enables precise,
real-time measurement of dissolved CO2 in situ.
Featuring a patented
opto-chemical technology, this system is designed to fit within
a variety of bioreactors to deliver precise, real-time data that
will increase understanding of bioprocess development and manufacturing
control. The YSI 8500 CO2 sensor allows monitoring of dissolved
carbon dioxide (CO2) via real-time display of data. Users can upload
data to a computer or integrate the output signal into existing
control processes.
The YSI
8500 CO2 monitor utilizes a fiber-optic cable to transfer light
through a stainless-steel probe and into a disposable sensor capsule
which contains a fluorescent dye. As carbon dioxide (CO2) moves
into the capsule's dye layer, a reaction occurs which changes the
dye's fluorescence. The resulting light emission from the dye is
transferred back through the cable to the monitor, which calculates
the level of dissolved carbon dioxide (CO2) based on ratiometric
analysis of the dye's fluorescence.
The YSI 8500 carbon dioxide
(CO2) monitor enables scientists, technicians, and production managers
to gain control of CO2 and related factors, which can result in
improved cell viability and higher product yields.
