YSI 1500 SPORT™ Lactate Analyzer
Measure blood lactate and take the mystery out of training The YSI 1500 Sport will be discontinued as of July 1, 2010
Blood lactate measurement is an important tool in the evaluation of human performance. Rising and falling blood lactate levels can be a direct indicator of oxygen supply to muscles during and after exercise or training activities. Lactate data can help trainers evaluate an athlete's fitness and susequently help to monitor and modify individual training programs. YSI's portable lactate analyzer was designed for the coach or trainer to help monitor athlete lactate levels in the field with the accuracy and precision of a laboratory analyzer. YSI's proven enzyme electrode technology has become for many the reference method for designing and evaluating handheld lactate monitors. Both the YSI 1500 SPORT and its clinical laboratory sister, the YSI 2300 STAT Plus, employ this enzyme sensor technology. Many coaches and trainers already use lactate to set the training pace for Olympic, college and other elite athletes. In fact, lactate analysis is a standard measure of fitness in many sports including track and field, rowing, cycling, swimming, triathalon, speed skating, and skiing, because it helps coaches regulate training and avoid overtraining. |
